I don't know that much about macro-economics other than the stock market is baseball cards for adults (based entirely on speculation) and the the "deficit" is how many loans we take out of our populace and (increasingly) foreign parties (through the use of bonds), but I know this is abso-friggin'-lutely not good – Sweden has cut its dollar holdings, from 37 per cent of central bank reserves to 20 per cent, with the euro's share rising to 50 per cent.
