Is that the actual picture of the Mustang?

Posted by cwp on March 30, 2005 07:18 PM

No, one I found on the Internet.

Posted by J$ on March 30, 2005 07:21 PM

It's so gorgeous, but I still prefer the new one!

Is the 69 Mach 1 in the picture for sale?

If so, what is the price tag? Also, is it a complete restoration and, if so, when completed?

Do you have additional information and photos of this or any other 1967 - 1970 Mach 1.

Thanks

GOOD LOOKING!!! I had one just like it in 1979, but with a 427 shaker hood. Fast and in trouble all the time.

I'm 16 years old, and about 6 weeks ago my grandpaw got killed on his motorcycle. He had about 40 antique vehicles. He has all kinds but there all Fords, execpt for about 4 or 5 of them. My favorite one was the 1970 Mach 1 Mustang. He always told me I could have his cars but the only one I want is the Mustang. Its red with the black strips. I love my car SO much!!!!

Posted by krissi kilby on June 27, 2005 06:28 PM

It is a restored car you can tell by the glossy hood. Real '69's have a flat/matte hood.

I have a diagram I can scan and email to you if you like. I'm pretty sure it's accurate, I used it to get my car done. What's your email address?

Posted by Mad Max on September 13, 2006 09:01 PM

Okay......well I'll try to describe it to you instead. As you probably know it nearly covers the whole hood - it goes right up to the windscreen and nearly up to the front and sides of the hood, basically a big square surrounded by a thin stripe (well, square with a slight point at the front!). The 'square' goes up to 1+1/8" from the side edges of the hood and up to 2+3/16" from the chrome strip at the front of the hood. But the corners need to be rounded off. My diagram does not specify how much to round off, but I believe it's in the range of 1" to 2", so maybe make it 1.5"? To do this, first draw the corners square, then rub out the last 1.5" of the lines and join the ends with a nice even curve. You'll also need a little bit of rounding at the point in the front center of the hood - just use a similar curve.

Now all you need is the stripe. The gap between the 'square' and the stripe is 1/4". Ideally you need to find some 1/4" masking tape for this. The stripe itself is 1/8" wide. If you do this all the way around correctly, you should end up with 3/4" of body color to mask over down the side edges of the hood and 1+13/16" of body color to mask over along the front edge of the hood. The hardest part is masking the curved bits....

Good luck!

My 1969 mach 1 had a 351 windsor. The owner ahead of me placed a 302 in it. Should i put a 351 windsor or clevlend into it. Also, all of your mustangs have black hoods. Mine has 2 black stripes down the center of the car. is this stock

Posted by samsonite on October 1, 2006 10:31 AM

Diagram scanned and sent to George and Wes. Just in time, because sadly I'm about to sell my car in a few days time. Owning this car for 6 years was the best thing I ever did! But now I have to sell it for family reasons. Never mind, when I'm older I'll get another one. If anyone out there is thinking about buying one, stop thinking and just do it! You won't regret it.

To samsonite - no, 2 black stripes is not stock.
